Miami Herald: promotes Aminda Marqués González (@mindymarques) to Editor and Publisher. She also oversees el Nuevo Herald.

New York Times: moves Sapna Maheshwari (@sapna) to the retail business beat. She says she will focus on retail brands, shopping trends, and how retailers deal with Amazon. Christina Caron (@cdcaron) is promoted to Parenting Reporter. She will focus on fertility, pregnancy, and parenting topics involving kids up to age 6.

Washington Post: hires Holly Bailey (@hollybdc) as National Politics Reporter. She will focus initially on the Democratic presidential primaries.

CNN: hires Kevin Collier (@kevincollier) as a Reporter covering cybersecurity, election interference and related topics.

Business and Commerce

Adweek: hires Shoshana Wodinsky (@swodinsky) as a Technology Reporter covering “platforms and their consequences.”

Bloomberg News: moves Justin Blum (@justin_blum_) to the White House desk.

Economist, The: relaunches 1843 (https://www.1843magazine.com), its bimonthly lifestyle magazine. It’s now a multiplatform title including a website, app, podcast, and events. The April/May issue is currently out in the UK and will hit U.S. newsstands on March 19. It includes a long feature story on “The Death of the Calorie” (as a reliable measure of weight-loss impact). Rosie Blau (@RosieBlau) is Editor-in-Chief. She’s based in London.

Houston Business Journal: hires Jonathan Adams (@HOUBizJournal) as Associate Editor. He will oversee special reports, contributed articles, and the Back Page feature. Laura Gillespie joins as Restaurants and Retail Reporter.

Puget Sound Business Journal: hires Rob Johnson (@PSBJ) as Managing Editor.

Wall Street Journal: hires Jared Council (@JaredCouncil) as an Artificial Intelligence Reporter for WSJ Pro.

Fatherly: hires Donna Freydkin (@FatherlyHQ) as Commerce Editor.

Active Interest Media: promotes Sharon Houghton to VP and General Manager of the Active Living Group.
