This year, the PRSA will hold its International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from November 8 to November 10. With a variety of keynote speakers, workshops and events, #PRSAICON is bound to generate some buzz

So what are we most excited for?

1. (EVENT) Opening Night Reception – Sunday, Nov. 8, 7:00–9:00 p.m.

Who isn’t intrigued by a “peach-themed fusion of well-known Southern hospitality and the ambiance of Old Hollywood.” The opening reception will set the tone for the rest of the conference, so we’re excited rub elbows with the who’s who of the PR and communications industry. Will you be there? Let us know, and we’ll do our best to say hi!

2. (KEYNOTE) Sheryl Connelly, Head, Global Consumer Trends and Futuring: Ford Motor Company – Monday, Nov. 9, 8:00–9:45 a.m.

MediaMiser is always looking for trends that can help our clients continue their successful communications endeavors. That’s why we can’t wait to hear what Sheryl Connelly, Head of Global Consumer Trends and Futuring (great title) at Ford Motor Company presents in her Keynote, “How to Think Like a Futurist.”

Connelly will share which 10 trends she believes will change the world, and how PR and communications professionals can leverage these trends and analysis in their own strategies.

3. (WORKSHOP) Decode the Evolving Influencer Landscape: Redefining Engagement With Data Analytics – Sunday, Nov. 8, 2:45–3:45 p.m.

Using media monitoring and analysis to identify brand advocates and influencers is a practice that MediaMiser has continually encouraged brands to adopt.

Priya Ramesh, Director of External Communications at IBM Cloud, will speak about how to identify influencers, what key metrics define their impact within your space, and how to leverage influencers at each stage of the sales and marketing pipeline. We’re excited to hear Priya’s insights!

4. Getting to know Atlanta

The Georgia Chapter of the PRSA is the second-largest chapter in the United States, with over 850 members. It’s also one of the most active. That’s why we’re excited to meet local PR and communications professionals and learn what’s new and cutting-edge in the industry.

With members from companies like Coca-Cola, Edelman, and Ogilvy PR, we’ll certainly be in for a treat!

5. (EVENT) #PRSAICON Link Up – Monday, Nov. 9, 7–9 p.m

We love meeting PR and communications professionals that we’ve been interacting with on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. That’s why we can’t wait to see new and familiar faces at the #PRSAICON Link Up!

6. (WORKSHOP) The Elephant in the Room: How Native Advertising Challenges Everything – Sunday, Nov. 8, 2:45–3:45 p.m.

Native advertising has been coined “the most overused and least understood” marketing buzzword currently in existence. This trend is gaining traction in the PR and communications industry, that’s why we’re especially curious to see what new challenges and opportunities it will present in the future.

This workshop presents a triple threat of panelists: David Weinand, Senior Vice-President at Edgell Communications; Larry Otsuka, Director – PR initiatives at Outbrain; and Ellen LaNicca, Senior Vice-President – Consumer Practice at PadillaCRT. These three will discuss the importance of reader trust in native advertising, trends that catalyzed the native advertising movement, and tips to be successful when implementing these strategies.

That’s why we’re more than a little excited to see what Cathy Hackl, Public Relations Director at Periscope Community Summit, has to say about the future of live streaming apps!
